My Fitness Journey: From Frustration to The Lift League

When I first started my fitness journey, I joined 24 Hour Fitness simply because it was the closest gym to my house. I had no grand plan—I just knew I needed to start somewhere. During sign-up, they told me to download their app, and I thought, hell yeah, an app for fitness! I bet it’ll have everything I need.

Sure enough, the app had thousands of workouts to choose from. At first, I was excited. I figured there had to be something in there that would guide me to the results I wanted. But reality hit fast.

The First Frustrations

No Way to Log Workouts – The app had all these workouts, but no way to track my progress. If I wanted to apply progressive overload, I needed a second app—or old-fashioned pen and paper—to keep track of my weights, reps, and sets. That was the first red flag.

The Workouts Were Garbage – It didn’t take long to realize that most of the workouts were absolute crap. They felt random, unstructured, and unnecessarily complex. Immediately, I started wondering: Why the hell are there thousands of workouts to dig through? Lifting isn’t that complicated.

The Deep Dive into Program Design

Frustrated with the lack of structure, I dove deep into researching what made a great training program. I wanted something that made sense—something built on progression, efficiency, and real-world effectiveness. I studied everything from strength and hypertrophy principles to athletic performance training. Every program I tried had flaws, but each one taught me something valuable.

Fast forward two years of research, trial, and error, and I began crafting what would eventually evolve into The Lift League—a structured, intelligent approach to training that cuts through the noise and delivers results.

What I Learned

  1. Training Doesn’t Need to Be Complicated – Thousands of workouts mean nothing if they lack structure.

  2. Tracking Progress is Everything – If you don’t measure your lifts, you don’t improve.

  3. Most Fitness Apps are Built to Look Busy, Not to Work – A flashy app with a huge library is useless if the content is ineffective.

I created The Lift League to fix everything that frustrated me in the beginning. It’s about progression, simplicity, and getting strong without distractions or fluff. If you’ve ever felt lost in the sea of generic workout plans, trust me—I’ve been there. That’s why The Lift League exists.
